philanthropy

Philanthropy is at the heart of all things Phi Sigma Sigma.  As a Phi Sig, our philanthropy is unique in that we get to choose where we would like to allocate our funds through the Phi Sigma Sigma Foundation. This allows sisters to propose causes and organizations to our chapter that they believe could use our assistance and support. In the past, we have raised money for the Hurricane Sandy Relief Fund and have worked with other sororities on  campus to fundraise for the Children's Miracle Network.

Our chapter has been the top fundraiser for the Rutgers University Dance Marathon for the past six years, graciously donating to the Embrace Kids Foundation. Our RU 4 Kids, Avery, Ivana, and Noely, are so special to us and we love being able to support them through our philanthropic efforts with RUDM.

Most recently, our chapter worked with the Circle of Sisterhood Foundation to raise enough financial resources to build an all-girls school in Haiti for women facing poverty and oppression.  Some of our sisters travelled to the village of Matador, Haiti this past May where they helped lay the foundation of the school.

While we keep our philanthropy very close to our hearts, we also love to support the philanthropic efforts of other greek organizations. Whether it's attending an event or tabling together, our sisters have so much fun working closely with other other chapters within the Greek community.

No matter the cause, philanthropy gives our sisters the opportunity to be a part of something bigger than themselves. At the end of the day, we truly believe there is no better feeling than giving to the community alongside your sisters!
